Immunizations From Your Spring Veterinarian

Are you making sure your pets vaccinations are up to date? At Steubner Airline Pet Resort & Spa, we like to take this opportunity to remind our pet owners that immunizations are an important part of their pet's health care rituals, too. Preventative medicine is one of the most important keys to responsible health care, and vaccinations are the way to make sure your pet stays immune from the most dangerous diseases.

Pet Vaccinations

Pet Vaccines Needed Before Boarding

We're dedicated to making sure all of our furry guests have a happy and safe stay in our boarding facilities, and that means keeping them safe from harm to their health. The best way we can do this is to make sure every pet that stays with us is current on its pet vaccines. If you keep up with the wellness checkup schedule your veterinarian gives for your dog or cat, it's likely your pet is already current on all the vaccines needed before boarding. Just in case they've missed one or two, here is what your dog needs before staying with us:

  • Rabies in the last 12 months
  • DA2PP in the last 3 years after the first immunization at age 1
  • Leptospirosis, with two shots in the first year, then once a year afterward
  • Bordetella, or kennel cough, given once every 12 months
  • Influenza in the last 3 weeks

Cats have a different list of vaccines needed, including:

  • Rabies every 12 months
  • Feline distemper every 3 years after reaching the age of 1 year
  • FeLV every 3 years after reaching the age of 1 year
